It may come as a complete shock to some, but Grand Junction, Colorado is not the only Grand Junction in the United States.

So far, I have located three other Grand Junctions and, all three are very small in size. In fact, you could put the other three together and still not come close to matching the size of Grand Junction in Western Colorado.

So, here are some things you didn't know about the other Grand Junctions.

You will find Grand Junction, Iowa in the central part of the state, about 45 miles from Des Moines. The town, with a population of 824, gets its name from an intersection of railroads. You won't find a Walmart, but you pretty much have everything you need including a convenience store, an auto dealership, a bowling alley, a tanning salon, and a car wash.

They have three churches comprised of Catholic, Methodist, and Presbyterian. You can conduct your city business Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m.  to Noon at the Grand Junction City Hall.

Grand Junction, Tennessee is located in the southwest corner of the state. It's the Bird Dog and Field Trial Capital of the World and features the National Bird Dog Museum.

The population is just over 300, but you will find a couple of banks, a clothing boutique, antique shops, several convenience stores, and a Dollar General Store.

Like its Colorado counterpart, there is an annual Christmas parade and tree lighting ceremony, and a BBQ Cook-Off, only they call it "Piggy in the Park" with contestants vying for the "Golden Pig.

Grand Junction is one of three small settlements that make up the largely rural Columbia Township with a total population of about 2,700. An unincorporated community, it sets at the junction of two railroad lines, though only one remains.

Located about an hour north of South Bend, Indiana, one of the best things this Grand Junction has going for it is that the shores of Lake Michigan are just about 30 miles away.
