About a month ago, we asked listeners to tell us what they thought about allowing marijuana sales in Grand Junction. The results are in, and by an overwhelming margin, it looks like Grand Junction wants to sell recreational pot.

We asked the question, "should Grand Junction allow sales of marijuana?" regarding a local petition that was started in support of pot sales, with the goal, ultimately, to get the issue on the ballot for voters.

According to our unscientific poll, a vast majority of Grand Junction residents support the sale of marijuana in the city. More than 92% of those responding said "yes" to marijuana while only 6% said "no", and 1% weren't sure.

While I might seriously doubt that 92% of our residents are pot smokers, it's likely that a lot of people are simply in favor of the tax dollars that come with marijuana sales. There is a line of thinking that says marijuana is here to stay, people are going to get it whether it's here in Grand Junction or elsewhere, and we might as well reap the benefits that could come from tax dollars.

In case you didn't get a chance to vote, you can take our poll below and let us know what you think.
