Western Colorado winters offer fun, beauty, and the magic of the holidays. Enjoy memories from the 40s through the 70s from Grand Junction and surrounding areas, in alphabetical order no less, with the "ABC's of Western Colorado Winters" via the lens of photographer Robert Grant.

Bob Grant, having been born in what we now call Clifton, saw close to 80 years of Western Colorado winters. The gallery above contains images of heavy snow, Christmas celebrations, trains and their crews enduring Colorado's cold temperatures, and kids having fun.

In my defense, my grandpa, Bob Grant, didn't always write information down on his photos. Most of these were taken 30 years before I was even born. I apologize for the fact I don't know the names of the people in the photos (with a few exceptions).

Look through the gallery, and you'll no doubt agree, there are, and always have been, a number of things to treasure when it comes to Western Colorado winters.
