Telluride's annual celebration of art and fire is set to get lit!

Looking for something fun and different to do this weekend? The Telluride Fire Festival fits the bill and then some! First, it's free and everyone that loves art infused with fire is encouraged to attend

Trust me, the kids will dig the fire sculptures! You will have to pay admission to the workshops and parties, however, to hang downtown and take in the festivities on Main Street, that will only cost you the time and effort.I

n the spirit of Nevada's Burning Man Festival comes 3-nights and 3-days of events that "...showcases fire art installations, fire art cars, fire dancers & more. People will be able to interact with fire art..." the Telluride Fire Festival!

The festival is funded through several ticketed parties and special events. The weekend's premier party is Saturday night's Fire Ball. Held inside the "nation's highest nightclub" at the top of the gondola in the "majestic Great Room."

Get ready to gear up with your most creative outfit and hit the dance floor to the funky beats laid down by DJ Beatrixx Kiddo and DJ Phoenix. Prepare to have your mind blown by fire dances and aerial silk performers doing tricks while suspended from the 20 foot high rafters.

Friday and Sunday evenings take in the Hot Time in the Old Town: Transfer Warehouse party. The roofless historic Telluride livery is where this special event takes place. Check out, and even operate fire sculptures, fire dancers, great music, hot drinks, and much, much, more!

Two great local and regional artists are participating. Try and make to see Dominic Del Signore as his company's Fireside Soiree show Friday evening. Former Grand Junction resident and artist, Jamie Vaida is participating in his 4th fire festival. Don't miss his sculpture is called "Skeleton Dance." It's interactive! How cool is that?

There are way too many things jammed into this fire filled weekend for me to share here. Take a few minutes and find out more by clicking HERE. I think you'll agree it fits the bill as "something fun and different" to do. Don't get stuck in front of the TV. Get out and experience one of the more amazing festivals Colorado has to offer. The Telluride Fire Festival!
