We now know what teams will be meeting on February 3rd in the New Orleans's Superdome. The San Francisco 49ers are the NFC champions and the Baltimore Ravens are the AFC Champions. In the NFC Championship game early today the San Francisco 49ers lead by Colin Kaepernick came from behind to beat the Atlanta Falcons in Atlanta 28 to 24. The Falcon's took and early 17-0 lead in the 1st quarter, but could not stop the running backs of the 49ers or the throwing arm of Kaepernick who took San Fransisco to the win and the title in his rookie season. Kaepernick's tenth NFL start will be in Superbowl XLVII. The Falcons were shut out of any scoring in the second half.

In the AFC title game the New England Patriots went into halftime with a 13-7 lead. In the last 67 games that the Patriots have had the lead at halftime, they have never lost at home. All of that changed today when the Baltimore Ravens' quarterback Joe Flacco kicked it into high gear in the 3rd quarter defeating the Patriots 28-13. The Patriots were shut out in the second half. This delays Ray Lewis' retirement another two weeks, but her did not look to be complaining.

This sets up the first brother versus brother Superbowl. I mean the brothers will be on the sidelines as head coaches. The 49ers are coached by Jim Harbaugh while the Ravens are coached by the older brother John Harbaugh.
