It's not quite summer time, but the summer concert series at Cross Orchards Historic Site in Grand Junction begins soon.

A comic opera will be presented on May 19th to kick off the concert season at Cross Orchards, presented by the Museums of Western Colorado and the Grand Junction Symphony. Opera Colorado’s Young Artists present an evening of arias, ensembles and a performance of Donizetti’s comic opera “The Elixir of Love.”

Five people will perform as if they were on stage, but without costumes or sets, which makes for a very unique and interesting concert experience. Additionally, background info is given on each piece, and there is a Q & A session as well.

These concerts are presented in the historic packing shed/barn so seating is extremely limited. If you are interested, you don't want to put off getting your seats reserved. Tickets are $25 and can be may be reserved online at www.museumofwesternco.org or by calling 970-242-0971 x2212.
