Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, the show where nobody went boldly where no one had gone before, debuted 20 years ago today. For the most part, each week we tuned in and watched as they worked out their troubles on a space station parked next to a giant hole in space which functioned a little like an interstellar toilet bowl. The show did have two remarkable attributes, one of which was Dax, the other was Dax. Which was hotter?

To set things straight, we have to explain one detail note. Dax and Dax are both Trills. The interesting thing about Trills is they are symbionts. They look pretty much like hot women with spots, but, they are packing a little something extra. They have this giant worm that lives in their belly, and "shares" lives with them. "Dax" refers to the worm, and the first names of Jadzia and Ezri refer to the women.

When the show debuted, we were introduced to the character Jadzia Dax, played by Terry Farrell. She stayed with the show for most of its run, but left before the final season.

During the last season of Deep Space Nine, Jadzia Dax biffed it, and we were introduced to the new Dax, Ezri, played by Nicole DeBoer.
