S.P.U.N.K., the organization that collects new socks, pajamas and underwear for needing kids in Grand Junction is celebrating the 10th anniversary of it's annual holiday campaign.

Founded by Grand Junction resident Gretchen Haynes a decade ago, S.P.U.N.K.supplies  needing children with new, essential clothing items like undergarments, socks and pajamas.

Clothing donations are distributed through Grand Valley Catholic Outreach, Mesa County Foster Care, and School District 51's REACH program.

When Gretchen and husband Don Haynes closed their business earlier this year, they were unsure where they could continue collecting clothing, but with the assistance of the Orchard Mesa Lions Club and Jubilee Family Church the annual S.P.U.N.K. campaign goes on.

Donations can be made at many area businesses including area True Value Hardware Stores and Grand Valley Bank locations. Donation barrels are also located on Colorado Mesa University campuses. For a complete list of drop-off locations or for more information on S.P.U.N.K., call 270-0114 or 241-3210.
