When I heard Eric Clapton had cancelled two shows due to severe back pain, I completely understand why. As a long time chronic back pain sufferer, I can honestly say, "I feel your pain." Anyone who's had back problems knows severe back pain is so incredibly debilitating that for many, it's difficult to even stand or walk.

A message on Clapton's website says he's being treated by "specialists who will be able to better determine the course of treatment." The message also states, Clapton regrets he's is unable to perform. He also apologized for "any inconveniences these cancellations may cause and would like to thank the fans for their understanding."

According to ABC News, Clapton cancelled shows in Vienna and Stuttgart leaving fans with no choice but to seek ticket refunds as it's unclear when he will be able to reschedule the shows.

Clapton still has four shows booked before he was scheduled to take a break. Three of the concerts are in Germany and the fourth in Prague, Czech Republic. There have been no reports on the status of the remaining shows, but considering my personal experience with this type of pain, I'd venture a guess some, if not all the shows will be cancelled and hopefully rescheduled when Clapton has recovered.
