Bargain hunting shoppers will be pleased to know the Salvation Army has opened a new, bigger thrift store in Delta.

The Delta Salvation Army Family Store, in announcing the grand opening, will have a ribbon cutting at 12 noon Wednesday. (May 6) The original store burned to the ground in 2009, and a much smaller store was opened later that year.

The new location is at 104 E. Highway 92, and the store hours will remain the same Monday thru Saturday 9am-5pm. The store will help the Salvation Army help those in need in Delta County as well as help fund the Adult Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation for the Western Slope.

The Salvation Army Social Services Department is also housed at the new location. The hours for social services are Tuesday, Thursday,  and Saturday 10am-2pm.
