Just in time for the season to start this weekend, the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) has released its Preseason Coaches Poll for college swimming and diving teams.

The poll was released on Thursday, and has placed Colorado Mesa University’s men’s team as second, right behind new RMAC affiliate member Lindenwood.

The poll also has Colorado Mesa’s women’s team listed as third, following first place California Baptist (who is the defending RMAC champion) and second place Lindenwood.

The RMAC also gave out honors to members of Colorado Mesa’s swim teams. Maverick senior Ryan Popp was named Preseason Diver of the Year, while junior Justin Hastings and freshman Skyler Hirsch were named to the preseason all-conference team.

On the women’s side, Eryn Leonard and Mary Saiz were also named to the preseason team.

Colorado Mesa opens its season at home today (Friday) when it hosts the Intermountain Shootout. The event is scheduled for today and Saturday.
