Peter Frampton was a huge disappointment at Red Rocks Tuesday night. It wasn't his performance that was disappointing, it was the fact there was no performance.

Frampton was scheduled to perform with Cheap Trick, but was  unable to take the stage due to illness. Frampton posted on his Facebook page an apology.

First of all, I must apologise(sic) to everyone who came to Red Rocks tonight planning on seeing both Cheap Trick and myself. I am devastated I could not perform for you. Some of you came such a long way and you must be very disappointed.
I have a virus that hit me hard, put me horizontal and left me with absolutely no voice.
My band and I had been looking forward to this show since it was first booked. Denver is always a great show because of all you great music fans."

Fans at the gate were given the option of watching the opening act, Cheap Trick, perform an extended set - or take a refund. In his statement, Frampton thanked Cheap Trick for playing over two hours, and promised fans 'one hell of a great show asap!'
