Would You Turn Your Kid in if They Commited a Crime? [POLL]

Being a parent is not easy, and it often comes with difficult decisions. Here's one. If your child was wanted by police for committing a crime, would you turn him or her into authorities?

A Florida mother did exactly that this week. She was looking at her Facebook newsfeed when she saw a post from police asking for help identifying a robbery suspect.  Turns out the wanted man was none other than her teenaged son.

According to the story on Yahoo News, the woman went into her son's room at 1:00 am, woke him up, and called police. The 18-year-old was arrested and charged with shoplifting more than $600 worth of merchandise from a local Target.

This woman didn't seem to hesitate in making the decision to call the police and turn in her son. How many other parents have faced a similar situation and were forced to make a difficult decision? Or is it a difficult decision?

It's tough to say exactly what you would do in that situation. No parent wants their kid hauled off to jail - whether it be for a few days or a few years. But, at the same time, no parent wants their kid entrenched deep in a lifetime of crime. It is possible the best way to steer them clear of such a life is to make sure they are held accountable for their actions and their bad choices.
