So you have guests coming in from out of town. Where is the first place you would take them in western Colorado?

Obviously, where you take out-of-state guests is going to depend on their age, tastes, abilities, and interests and how much time you have. You're not likely to take an 80-year-old couple to scale Mt. Garfield, nor are you going to take your conservative Christian friends on a local wine tour.

For the sake of discussion, let's imagine you have just one day to play tour guide for your friends or family. What is the one must-see thing to do or see in western Colorado?

If they are into beautiful scenery, maybe it's a drive over the Colorado National Monument or the Grand Mesa? Maybe you get a little more adventurous and take them on a speed ride over Red Mountain Pass. (Don't forget to throw in the barf bags.)

If your friends are more the active type, perhaps a trip to Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park and the hot springs would be just the thing. Perhaps they would be interested in one of Colorado's clothing optional hot springs.

An adventurous drive and a scenic ride could be combined in a trip to Durango to ride the Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad.

Maybe you are just so proud of your hometown you just want to drive them around town and show them the wonders of Grand Junction including Colorado Mesa University, Canyon View Park, Las Colonias Amphitheatre, Connected Lakes, or the Redlands Mesa Golf Community.

There are a lot of ways to go with this, so put your answer in the poll below and I imagine we can compile quite a list, which should be of great help to others.
