The Grand Mesa Summit Challenge Dog Sled and Skijor Races gives families a chance to see dog sleds and skijors at the highest race in North America this weekend, January 25 and 26!

I emcee the Grand Mesa Summit Challenge Dog Sled and Skijor Races every year and the whole shindig never ceases to amaze me!

From the cacophony of sound when the dogs are led to the line, to the family camaraderie among the racers as they help each other handle their dogs at the start of a race!

The entire event is well worth the drive to the Grand Mesa Forest, Mesa Top Trail

Items To Bring:

  1. Multiple layers - you never know what the weather is going to do.
  2. Toys - sleds, snowmobiles, snowshoes, buckets and shovels (to make a snow castle), etc.
  3. Snacks - there will be a small concession stand on site, so bring some extra cash.
  4. Camera - lots of opportunity to grab some great photos.

Do Not bring your pets!

  • This makes for an unsafe environment for the race dogs, spectators and your pets!
