George Jackson, the songwriter who along with Thomas Jones, III wrote  the Bob Seger hit, 'Old Time Rock and Roll,' died Sunday. He was 68. Jackson had been battling cancer.'Old Time Rock and Roll' originally appeared on Seger's 'Stranger In Town' album and has become one of Seger's signature songs.  It was also used in the Tom Cruise movie 'Risky Business.'

Jackson wrote songs that were recorded by numerous R&B artists and was the composer of the Osmonds hit, 'One Bad Apple.' Jackson also recorded some of his own music on various record labels but none released under his own name.
