For  a lot of people, Rock Jam is the highlight of the summer. Regardless of who is playing they go every year for the ultimate end-of-summer party. These are the Rock Jam veterans. They know the game, and they know how to play.
However, if you are a first-timer, the whole experience can be a bit daunting. So here are a few tips that will help you achieve maximum enjoyment.

1)  Know that it's going to cost $10 for you to park your car - both days. $10 on Friday and $10 on Saturday. That's a total of $20 for parking. It is definitely worth checking out the shuttle service at www.rockjam.com . It will cost you $10, but  you will save money on gas--and you don't have to worry about getting back to Grand Junction safely.

2)  Wear comfy shoes. Chances are you will be walking some distance from your vehicle into the grounds and the last thing you want to do is start the evening off with sore feet. You could still be doing quite a bit of walking once you are inside the gate. Which brings us to #3.

3) While you are inside the grounds, don't just stay put. There will be plenty of opportunities  to explore the grounds, check out the vendors, concessions, side stages, and special activities. Rock Jam isn't JUST about sitting there  listening to music. Be sure to experience ALL  that Rock Jam has to offer.

4) Bring chairs! Some people just bring a blanket. Fine. But,if you do expect that your line of sight could very well be obscured by people in front of you. Besides, sitting on  a blanket for an hour is ONE thing. But sitting on a blanket with no back support for 3 or 4 hours is no tea party. If you want, bring a blanket and spread it out next to your chair. Then if you feel like it you can  take some time to stretch out.

5) While it is  possible that you have spent your entire summer savings on tickets just to get into the gate, hopefully you can bring plenty of extra cash so you can enjoy some of the yummy, delicious food and  drinks, and maybe get a souvenir t-shirt or two.

Gates open at 2pm on Friday and 12 noon on Saturday.
