If you've ever had a flat tire, you know how inconvenient that can be. If you've ever had a flat tire - but didn't know how to change it it's really inconvenient. Turns out, nearly half of us don't know even know how to change a tire. 

I'm not the world's most mechanical guy. If it's brakes, don't ask me. If it's under the hood and doesn't involve the battery or adding fluid, don't call me. But, I do know how to change a tire , I do know how to change the oil, and I am an expert at pumping gas.

Fleet News reports the results of a new survey that indicates 49% of people don't know how to change a tire, while 58% don't know how to change the oil.

It certainly is not essential for a person to know how to change the oil. Most of us, whether we know how or not, just the take car in to let somebody else do ti. But, knowing how to change a tire can really come in handy, because you never know when it's going to happen. Man or woman, if you aren't sure how to change a tire, take some time to learn - have somebody show you, or take five minutes to watch the video below. One day, when you get a flat tire half way between Grand Junction and Delta,  you will be glad you did.

How about the simple task of adding washer fluid? The survey says 29% of people don't know how to do it, because they don't know where it goes. Believe it or not, 1% don't know how to pump gas.
