The Salvation Army has been a part of Mesa County for over 100  years. And while this benevolent organization is most visible during the holidays with their Red Kettle Campaign and toy and food drives, the fact is, the Salvation Army is extremely active in the community 12 months a year, and so it is appropriate to have a week designated in their honor. This is National Salvation Army Week, and today is a special day for our local unit.

Today, until 1:00,  the Salvation Army is offering tours of their various facilities throughout Mesa County.

There will be guided tours of the Corps office (with a special tour of the food storage & processing area), and also the Thrift Stores.

The Salvation Army Corps office is located at 1235 North 4th Street. The two Thrift Store addresses are 1155 North 4th Street and 3227 I-70 Business Loop in Clifton.

This is a great  opportunity to come and see what The Salvation Army has to offer in services and the programs available to the residents of Mesa County.

On Friday of this week they will be serving  coffee and donuts to  Veterans at the entrance of the VA Hospital. Anyone is welcome to stop by the VA Hospital Friday morning for a treat.

KOOL 107.9 has supported The Salvation Army for a number of years with several of their programs including the toy and food drive, the Red Kettle Campaign, and sending kids to camp. We take this time to salute our local Salvation Army and thank them and all of their wonderful volunteers for the incredible service they provide to our community.
