For the Grand Junction Lions Club, it's the biggest day of the year.

You might be surprised to learn this is going to be the Lions Club's 90th annual carnival. Before long they'll be celebrating 100 years.

There's no admission charge to attend the carnival at Two Rivers Convention Center starting at 5:00 on Saturday, February 16. Once inside, it's up to you how much you want to spend. And, of course, you'll want to buy some tickets for your chances to win some really cool prizes - over $25,000 worth.

The Lions Club carnival is definitely a family-friendly event, just in case you are wondering.

The day starts with the annual parade beginning at 1:00, proceeding east down Main Street from Two Rivers Convention Center. If you want to be in the parade you can download a parade entry form. Otherwise, come on down and join the fun.

Aside from the fact that it's just a ton of fun, what makes the annual Lions Club carnival so popular is all the great prizes they give away. Over the years, this combination has resulted in over $7 million dollars the Lions Club has been able to donate to local charities, non-profits, schools, and events.

Over the years, the GJ Lions club has made donations to local groups like Orchard Mesa Little League, Western Slope Center for Children, Las Colonias Park, numerous school groups, and countless others.

It's highly likely you know someone who is a member of the GJ Lions. If you do, next time you see them take a moment and say thanks for all the great things the GJ Lions Club has done in our community over the last 90 years.
