I recently posted a reminder to keep your PETS away from wildlife and I'm hoping this GRAPHIC video of a moose attack caught reminds YOU to stay away and not harass wildlife as well! WARNING: Video may not be safe for some viewers!

In this video originally posted by Bow Hunting World a man snowmobiling comes to a moose on the trail and after much clapping and whistling the 1,000 pound moose attacks, retreats then attacks again.

That's when he pulls a gun in fear for his life and shoots the animal . . .

In my opinion this did not need to happen, I understand why it did, but I think the situation could have been avoided.

Watch the video and tell me why didn't the man retreat and give the moose some space, why was he acting in a threatening manner by clapping and hollering?
According to Mike Porras with the Colorado Parks and Wildlife,
It took a while to verify this, but this incident occurred in Colorado in 2011, not Wyoming. The individual did report this to Colorado Parks and Wildlife, and the animal was salvaged. The individual told us he had a heart condition and feared for his life as well as the safety of his son who was riding behind him. Our officers looked at the totality of the incident to determine if charges would apply. Based on the information, we did not press charges. The question remains, could this have been avoided by making different decisions? Perhaps,. However, individuals do have the right to use lethal force to defend themselves from a wild animal attack. My suggestion, keep your distance from wildlife and you will likely avoid an incident as this.
