Montrose Receives Award

The City of Montrose received special recognition over the weekend. The recognition comes in the form of the 2013 All America City Award.

According to the Montrose Daily Press, the award was presented Sunday evening at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Downtown Denver.

Each year, the Denver-based National Civic League chooses 10 cities for the award. It recognizes cities for innovation, inclusiveness, civic engagement, and collaboration.

The Montrose Daily Press reports Montrose stressed its program to welcome returning veterans, its downtown development efforts, and the reopening of a lumber mill.
