For those old enough to remember the famous phrase "Sock it to Me" from the television show 'Rowan and Martin's Laugh-In,' you have to wonder if the summer heat has gotten to the staff at the Montrose Library.

While it is likely there are at least a few at the library who know what the phrase made famous by the show is all about, this 'Sock it to Me' has nothing to do with the show.

If that is the case, then what is this all about? Puppets! More specifically, sock puppets kids can make during a summer sock puppet workshop.

The workshop for grade school aged students, gives children a choice of colorful socks and a whole bunch of things to design and build their own unique puppet. They can be simple, funny, zany, or whatever design the builder's imagination can come up with for a puppet.

The workshop is being held on Thursday (June 30) from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. at the Montrose Regional Library Marguerite H. Gill Children's Room.
