The Montrose Police Department is investigating a case where, in addition to other criminal acts, the suspect intentionally set a car on fire.

According to Montrose Police and Montrose Regional Crime Stoppers, the evening of February 27 a person or persons vandalized a number of things in and around the 000 block of West South 4th Street.

Some of the vandalism included tagging walls with spray paint and setting a vehicle on fire. The tagging included several places where the word "ZIP" was painted. Total damage is estimated to be $3,000.

If you have any information about the arson and vandalism or know the people involved, you are asked to contact the Montrose Police Department or make an anonymous report to Crime Stoppers at 970-249-8500. Information can also be sent anonymously through the P3 Tips app.
