First responders in Montrose want as many people as possible to participate in the city's National Night Out. So, they're hosting a single large event and inviting every resident to join them.

The National Night Out celebration is tonight (August 7) from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at River Landing Shopping Center's Target parking lot.

This is the 35th anniversary of the event and is an opportunity to meet and visit with members of the Montrose Police and Sheriff's Offices, Colorado State Patrol, Montrose Fire Department, Care Flight and other first responders.

Montrose Police Department officers will be grilling hamburgers and hot dogs and serving other picnic favorites and other agencies will be hosting a kids bike rodeo, games, and providing information in a fun atmosphere.

The National Night Out celebration, including the burgers and hot dogs is free so leave the cooking to the cops and enjoy a great evening with your neighbors and those that protect and serve the Montrose community.
