A totally unexpected thing happens when molten aluminum is poured inside a watermelon.

The expectation was that the molten aluminum would quickly vaporize the liquid in the watermelon and the rapid expansion would cause the melon to explode.

While the steam from super-heating of the inside did cause some of the melted metal to bubble out, what remained inside turned out to be something of a watermelon metal sculpture thanks to the seeds and seed paths in the melon.

Just in case you're thinking of trying this yourself, don't. It's very possible the watermelon would explode covering you in super-heated pieces of melon and molten metal.
