A Mesa County man reported missing and endangered has been found according to the Mesa County Sheriff's Office.

Charles 'Charlie' W. Brittain, 67-years-old, was last seen this morning (February 11) by his spouse. When he didn't return home, his spouse filed a missing person report noting Brittain was in the early stages of dementia and could be confused or lost. This prompted the Sheriff's Office to put out a missing and endangered person alert.

The Mesa County Sheriff's Office checked various locations around the county including local hospitals. When Brittain safely arrived at his home late this afternoon, officials called off the search.

While a citizen tip wasn't responsible for Brittain's safe return, The Mesa County Sheriff's Office notes citizen tips are one of the most successful ways of locating a missing person.
