One of the founding members of the Motown group 'The Miracles,' Bobby Rogers (right) died Sunday (March 3) in Detroit after a long illness. He was 73.Rogers co-founded The Miracles with Smokey Robinson in 1955. The group first hit the Billboard pop charts in 1960 with "Shop Around" and scored a string of hits throughout the 1960's and 1970's including "You've Really Got A Hold On Me," "I Second That Emotion" and the #1 hit, "The Tears Of A Clown." Rogers helped write the title track of the Miracles album, "Going To A Go-Go."

Rogers and Robinson also co-wrote The Temptations first hit, "The Way You Do The Things You Do."

The Miracles received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2009 and were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2012. Rogers was reportedly too ill to attend the Rock Hall induction.

Rogers, considered to be the group's best dancer, was also the choreographer for the group during early years of their career.
