As I'm writing this, there are 10 dogs and 11 cats available for adoption at the Roice-Hurst Humane Society. That means there are 21 terrific animals, including Belle, who hope to be lucky enough to find someone to give them a home.

I won't tell you about all of the animals available for adoption at Roice-Hurst Humane Society because I would like you to visit the shelter and meet them in person. The shelter is open Tuesday through Saturday from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. The shelter is located at 362 28 Road.

If you plan it right, you could have a new friend to watch the big game with, or if you'd rather do something else, they'd be more than willing to go along. Here's a look at some dogs ready for adoption.

Belle - She's a 6-year-old Retriever, Labrador Mix who loves to be active. Throw a ball, she'll chase it. Go for a jog, she'll be your partner. Belle is a well mannered dog and is crate trained. She really has to be the 'Belle of the ball' so other pets, whether dogs or cats won't work.

Roscoe - He's a 2-year-old Terrier, American Pit Bull Mix and loves people. He's very active and ready to go on adventures with you. He's generally well mannered, but also clever enough to escape unless he's kept in a well secured fenced yard.

Uriel - He's a sweet dog with an abundance of energy. He loves to play and jump. That means with some time and training, you could probably teach him some really amazing tricks. It also means he needs a secure fenced yard. His ideal home would be with adults or a family with older children. One more thing, Uriel does not like cats.
