Happy Birthday today to Judge Joseph Wapner, most famous for his run on the syndicated reality series The People’s Court. The court show's first run in syndication, with Wapner presiding as "judge", lasted from 1981 to 1993. … 2,484 episodes.

Of all four judges that have presided over The People's Court to date, Wapner and the show's current judge, Marilyn Milian, have had the longest tenures on the program.

What you may not know about Judge Wapner is that he briefly  dated Lana Turner in high school and he earned a Purple Heart and Bronze Star while serving in the South Pacific during World War II.
