With only two games left in the regular season, Colorado Mesa University’s women’s basketball team has received two pieces of good news since Saturday.

Last Saturday, the  Mavericks clinched their second consecutive Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference regular season championship with a win over Western State Colorado.

And earlier today (Thursday), the team climbed to the Number 1 ranking in the South Central Region.

At 24-0, the Mavericks are  looking towards ending the regular season undefeated. The team will close out the regular season on the road this weekend with games against Adams State and Fort Lewis. The Adams State game is scheduled for 5:00 p.m. Friday, and the Fort Lewis game is at 5:30 p.m. Saturday.

Colorado Mesa’s women’s basketball team will begin playoff action next Tuesday (March 4) when they host the RMAC tournament at Brownson Arena.
