Lady Mavericks Advance to NCAA South Central Region Semifinal

For the second straight season, Colorado Mesa University’s women’s basketball team advances to the NCAA South Central Region semifinal with a 60-49 win over Midwestern State.

Midwestern State scored the first nine points of the game before Colorado Mesa came back with a 10-2 run midway through the first half. The Mavericks led the game at halftime 28-22, and at one point led the game by as many as 20 points.

Colorado Mesa will now play Tarleton State, who won their quarterfinal game 70-55 over Texas A&M Int'l Friday. The semifinal game between Colorado Mesa and Tarleton State is scheduled for Saturday at 4:00 p.m. Grand Junction time. ESPN Radio 1230 will broadcast the game beginning at 3:45 p.m.
