There were nearly 170 cars in the annual car show in downtown Grand Junction on Saturday, but the KOOLest car of them all was from Montrose.

A number of awards are presented each year including the Mayor's Choice, the Car Most Likely to Get a Speeding Ticket, and the KOOLest Car.

Ed and I get to pick this one, and, wow, was it ever tough this year. There were so many really cool cars, trucks, and motorcycles, but, somehow we were able to single out one special car - a 1933 Plymouth owned by Rob Lake of Montrose.

Rob told me he's had the car for more than 25 years and he loves to drive it and loves  to show it off, traveling to lots of car shows during the year.

It seems like most of the cars in the downtown Grand Junction car show are from Grand Junction and Fruita, but they do come from all over - including Montrose -- and even one all the way from California.

In case you missed this year's downtown car show, I photographed a few of the outstanding cars in the show, and I will be sharing those with you soon!
