You may not know a lot about the award-winning rock group 'Imagine Dragons'. But that doesn't matter. What really counts is how incredible their performance of the Ben E. King classic 'Stand By Me' was on the 2015 Billboard Music Awards.

Many times, artists like to put their own spin on a classic song, but these guys gave both King, who died April 30, and the song the respect and emotion the musical masterpiece deserved.

King, who was one of the members of the Drifters, left the group in 1960 to pursue a solo career. His first hit was 'Spanish Harlem'. That was followed with 'Stand By Me,' a song King wrote with Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller. The Recording Industry Association of America selected it as one of the Top 25 Songs of the Century.

The Imagine Dragons tribute was, in my opinion, one of the best performances of the night and proof true classics have meaning and emotional connections even decades after their original release.
