In the world of rock and roll, the break up of bands and marriages is common place. Some of the most popular and successful  bands of all time have been unable to keep a core together for a long period of time. Creedence Clearwater Revival, The Guess Who, Three Dog Night. Styx, and the Beatles all come to mind. The rock and roll arena also seems to be tough on marriages as you think of the many loves of legends such as Rod Stewart, Mick Jagger, and Paul McCartney. The fact that Pat Benatar and Neil Giraldo have been married for 31 years is nothing short of remarkable.

In 1979, Pat Benatar, who was yet to burst onto the scene,  was introduced to Neil Giraldo, a guitartist and keyboardist for the Rick Derringer Band. Their connection was instantly magical, producing her platinum debut album In the Heat of the Night. Three years later their partnership resulted in a marriage that has endured the test of time and the rock and roll life style.

As they moved into the 80s, the couple produced a string of hits including Hit Me With Your Best Shot, and the Grammy-winning tunes  Shadows of the Night and Love Is A Battlefield. Pat was all over the radio, all over the world.

Benatar and Giraldo remained active in the 90s, and then in 2003 produced their first new album in seven years. In 2010, Benatar released her autobiography Between A Heart and a Rock Place, which gave us a glimpse at the life and times of one of the most successful female rockers in history.

Pat Benatar and Neil Giraldo bring their chemistry and their energy to the stage at Hudson Gardens Event Center in Littleton on Sunday, August 4th.
