The remains are those of 77-year-old Gary G. Golden who disappeared from the Colorow Care center in Olathe on July 17.

A bird hunter reported to authorities he had found skeletal remains and clothing fragments in the 5900 block of US Highway 50 on December 1.

Numerous search attempts by several agencies and individuals proved unsuccessful following Golden's disappearance.

The Montrose County Office of Medical Investigations performed a forensic autopsy on the remains and items investigators found at the scene confirmed the identity to be that of Gary Golden.

While providing identity, the medical investigator was unable to determine the cause and manner in which Golden died, citing there wasn't enough physical evidence available.
