Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine that I would do the unthinkable. But, now that I've done it, I am glad and  I am thinking I want to do it again - soon!

It was Christmas Day. My wife was working and it was just me and the dogs alone at home, trying to pass the time. I'm not sure how it happened, but it happened. In fact, it happened so fast I can't even recall the exact moment when my life changed forever.

It's Channel 2 on our cable system - Home Shopping Network - and somehow I landed there. And, coincidentally or not they were having a clearance sale on NFL merchandise. Specifically, the sale was  on 60 x 90 blankets/throws of NFL teams - 50% off! Are you kidding me? This was true good to be true! $14.95 for an NFL throw! Is this my lucky day, or what?

Honestly, my first thought was to get a Broncos' throw for my wife - because I already have a Vikings' blanket that she made me a few years ago. However, I searched in vain. Broncos were sold out!! Only five teams remained - and the Minnesota Vikings just happened to be one of the five. So what's a die hard Vikings' fan supposed to do?

Now, remember at this point, I am an HSN virgin. But, before I knew what was happening, my hand was reaching for my wallet to pull out my credit card. I'm not sure if I lost consciousness or what, but when I came to, I discovered that the order had been placed - and I had made my first official purchase on HSN.

Just a few days ago, the order was confirmed when my new Vikings throw arrived in the mail. It was like Christmas day all over again, and I was like a little kid in a candy store.

I never thought I would actually make a purchase on HSN, but, I am so happy with my transaction. However, I fear that the second time will be even easier, and the third time easier still. I never knew home shopping could be so much fun!

Now, I am wondering how many others have actually made a purchase on a television shopping network.  I am pretty sure I'm not the only one.
