Am I the only one that giggles inside when you have to say it out loud? Then you're saying it WRONG.... but we've got the answer!

I had to laugh when I found out, the astronomer that discovered the planet wanted to name it George!

He had a good reason-he was British and wanted to name it after King George the Third...and while that's very honorable I can't imagine calling something so amazing GEORGE!

What surprises me is that URANUS was 2nd in line!

Apparently no one outside of England appreciated the name George so they decided to name it after the Greek god of the sky, Ouranos.

And it's pronounced: Yer-uh-nuss... so if you're saying it the other way you're doing it wrong....
