Happy Birthday to Former Journey Frontman Steve Perry

Former Journey lead singer Steve Perry celebrates his 65th birthday today. Perry was one of the truly great voices of rock and roll in the 70s and 80s. His replacement Arnel Pineda is no slouch.

As it is with many lead singers, Steve Perry possessed a very unique and distinct singing voice. When he left Journey in 1998, many fans figured  Journey would just never be the same. And it wasn't -until 2007 when Arnel Pineda showed up.

Pineda's voice is remarkable - and actually strikingly similar to the voice of Steve Perry. In fact, at times it's nearly impossible to tell them apart. Watch the videos below as  both singers  do the Journey hit Open Arms, and you'll see how similar their voices are.

In 2013, Perry had a cancerous mole removed and had two surgeries to remove cancer cells and was declared cancer-free. He's now living his self-described dream - being an average Joe with a wife, kids, and a mini-van.
