Yesterday's "Dine In The Blind" event provided Western Colorado residents an opportunity to experience what those dealing with blindness and low vision go through every day. Dozens of people attended yesterday's fundraiser at the Center For Independence, enjoying a great dinner, while experiencing first hand the challenge of blindness.

Participants were led into the dining hall wearing blindfolds. From there, they enjoyed a great Italian dinner, while learning how to eat without vision. For the record, the reason why the photos are so dark isn't because I'm a lousy photographer, or at least, not JUST because I am a lousy photographer. The room was kept extremely dark to further enhance the experience of blindness.

Proceeds from the dinner and auction, along with the dance afterwards with the Desert Flyer Band, will benefit the Center For Independence at 740 Gunnison Avenue in Grand Junction.
