I saw somewhere dogs eat grass because they like the taste. Their human companions would much rather help shelter pets by listening to the tasty tunes of the band 'Stray Grass' than eating grass.

The annual 'Wine and Whiskers' concert is a great way to help local shelter pets at the Roice-Hurst Humane Society and enjoy a great evening listening to live music.

The concert is part of the 'Hear It Through the Grapevine' series and is happening on Saturday, June 25, 7:30 p.m. on the lawn at Grande River Vineyards in Palisade. Gates for the show open at 6:30 p.m.

Tickets are $15 in advance ($20 at the gate) and can be picked up at the Vineyard or ordered online. Tickets are also available at Roice-Hurst Humane Society, Enstrom, and Fisher Liquor Barn.

Concertgoers should bring their own chair and can either bring a picnic dinner or buy food at the show. Outside beverages are not permitted, but wine, soft drinks, and water will be available to purchase.
