Neighbors helping neighbors is what Sharefest is all about May 3rd and 4th in Grand Junction.Whether it's raking leaves, picking up trash, painting, doing repairs and small projects, churches in the community will be coming together to lend assistance to people who are truly in need.

The first Grand Valley ShareFest was in 2008 with 23 churches and over 3,000 people involved in over 600 projects.

Here's how it works. Individuals who are in need of help submit their need on line by April 21st. Participating churches and their volunteers decide which days they are going to serve. The projects are assessed, waivers are signed, and group leaders work with the volunteers to execute the completion of the project.

This is one of the things that makes Grand Junction such a great community - people helping people. If you would like to participate, talk to your pastor and get him to the ShareFest website for details. If your church is not participating as a group, you can still sign up to work as an individual.
