Today (March 14) is Pi Day, a celebration of the mathematical constant 3.14. The Colorado Rockies celebrated the day with their own representation of Pi.

March 14 is the day chosen for Pi Day because it is the 14th day of the 3rd month. Get it? 3-14 or 3.14.

Pi is significant because it is defined as the ratio of the circumference of a circle to its diameter. The number is an infinite decimal which means too many numbers for the average person like me to worry about.

While 3.14 is just fine for me, The Colorado Rockies were much more accurate in representing the infinite number for Pi Day.

While most of us will never need to know Pi more than a few decimals, some just have to shame us by memorizing a lot of numbers beyond the first two after the decimal.

So if you've been shamed enough about Pi like I am, then we should celebrate Pi Day by eating pie. That's a circle we all know how to 'mathematically' calculate.
