On Tuesday, the Grand Junction Rockies and Colorado Mesa University jointly announced that their video partnership will continue for a second season.

Grand Junction Rockies is one of three Colorado affiliates that will feature “live” video streaming of all home games.

CMU mass communication students will receive hands-on experience in producing the telecasts of the home games.

According to Dan Lenniken, CMU Associate Professor of Mass Communications, “The GJ Rockies telecasts are a perfect teaching hospital environment for our students. Over the course of the summer they learn the theories behind production and get almost daily feedback applying their knowledge.”

GJ Rockies General Manager Tim Ray has continued to state how impressed he is with the CMU students. “The production quality provided by the Mass Communication students at Colorado Mesa University is second to none,” Ray said.

All Grand Junction home games can be viewed on MiLB.com, a worldwide subscription service provided to baseball fans at a monthly or season rate.

Opening day for the Grand Junction Rockies is scheduled for Friday, June 20 at Suplizio Field in Grand Junction. The Rockies will play the defending Pioneer League Champions, Idaho Falls Chukars at 7:05 p.m.
