Take Your Dog for a Dip at Two Local Pools

Normally, dogs aren't allowed to swim in the public pools at Lincoln Park and Palisade, but, in September that rule is being lifted for a "Dog Day at the Pool" party.

The Palisade Pool will host their 5th annual dog swim day on September 8 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Admission is $3.00 per dog or two dogs for $5.00. Proceeds will benefit Roice-Hurst Humane Society.

Grand Junction will host its 11th annual dog swim at Lincoln Park Pool on September 13. A small dog - 25 pounds or less -  session will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Open swim for all dogs will be from 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Dogs will have games available both in and out of the water.

Cost for the Lincoln Park swim is $5.00 per dog or up to four dogs per family for $12.00. Proceeds will be split between Roice-Hurst Humane Society and Reach Out to Kids (Grant-A-Wish) program.

Dogs attending the swim events need to be current on all of their vaccinations and owners should bring vaccination paperwork for their pets.
