Christopher Cox, 31 of Grand Junction, has been booked at the Mesa County Jail after crashing into St. Mary's hospital Emergency Entrance and fleeing the scene.

The Grand Junction Police Department reports Christopher Cox of Grand Junction was arrested after crashing his vehicle into the emergency room entrance of St. Mary's Hospital after being asked to leave, when he dropped off a passed out intoxicated woman in the Emergency Room.

Cox was booked on multiple charges including driving under the influence, leaving the scene of an accident, failure to report an accident, no proof of insurance, reckless driving, and violation of a protection order.

During the incident. The hospital staff called 911 after the truck smashed large glass panels at the emergency room’s entrance. Cox fled in the truck and was later seen on Highway 6 & 50 driving at over 65 miles per hour on a blown out tire.

Cox stopped the  truck in the parking lot of Chipotle. According to GJPD, they also found alcohol in the vehicle once stopped.
