The Mesa County Sheriff's Office SWAT team was called to 2876 Orchard Ave yesterday (Feb. 4) at 2 p.m. to arrest a man who was wanted on active warrants that resulted in a 12-hour standoff.

Justin Nunn, 30, of Grand Junction, was taken into custody by the MCSO after a 12-hour standoff with the SWAT Team. Channel 11 News was on scene yesterday and said,

Deputies at the scene spoke into a megaphone saying, "Drop the gun. This is the Mesa County sheriffs. We are not leaving. You are under arrest. Come out with your hands up."

According to the Mesa County Sheriff's Office, Dunn was booked into the Mesa County Detention Facility on the following charges:

  • Parole Violation
  • 2nd Degree Burglary
  • Possession of a Schedule II Drug
  • Criminal Mischief -- $1000.00 to $5000.00
  • Resisting Arrest
  • Obstructing a Peace Officer
  • Violation of a Protection Order
  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Nunn remains in the detention facility on a hold.
