GJHS Knowledge Bowl Team the Best in Colorado

The Grand Junction High School Knowledge Bowl team took first place in Class 5A at the Colorado Knowledge Bowl tournament yesterday (March 14), but that wasn't the only thing this brilliant group of students won.

The GJHS Tigers Knowledge Bowl team also took first place overall. Guess they figured as long as they were there, why not grab the Colorado championship, too.

Winning is nothing new for the GJHS team, they also brought home a national championship from the National Tournament of Academic Excellence in 2015.

This year's state championship is the 19th time the GJHS Tigers team has been the state champion. Next year's team has the chance to make it an incredible 20 state wins. No pressure, right?

For now, the team is focused on two big tournaments, the National History Bowl in Washington, D.C., and the National Quiz Bowl in Atlanta.
