School is not in session this week in Grand Junction, and Girl Scouts of Colorado are making the most of it giving  young girls a chance to have some fun with their Taste of Girl Scouts event today and tomorrow. (Oct.9,10)
The Girl Scouts have teamed up with local community partners like Cabelas, Kaia Fitness, Absolute Dance, and CMU to offer workshops exposing girls to a variety of activities including fly fishing, archery, drama, dance, fitness, and gymnastics. Earlier today, the girl were roasting s'mores on a campfire!

Cindi Graves, Fund Development Manager for Western Colorado says "During the fall break,we wanted to provide a taste of what we do for girls. We invite all girls ages 5-17 to explore the world available to them through Girl Scouts."

Friday's activities are still open to the public from 8am-4pm at the Girl Scout office on 24 1/2 Road. The cost is $5 for current Girl Scouts, and $15 for non-scouts, and that includes a Girl Scout membership. Girls should bring a lunch.
