Grand Junction filmmaker Larry Cappetto combined his video clips from Western Slope Honor Flights along with photos and other footage he's shot to create a stirring tribute to our nation's veterans.

Cappetto interviewed veterans, then documented, archived and preserved what has become one of the largest oral histories of Americans at war. The project titled "Lest They Be Forgotten" is summed up by Cappetto who says,

“History is best learned from those who were there.  An act of remembrance is an act of honor!!”

For the project, Cappetto has spent over a decade interviewing over a thousand veterans, not only as an effort to preserve history, but also to help people understand the sacrifices these men and women made to ensure our freedom.
